Lisa has participated in the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders—Arts presented by National Arts Stabilization and Stanford Graduate School of Business, and earned her M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. In addition, she holds an M.S. in Leadership in Museum Education from Bank Street Graduate School of Education, an M.A. in the History of Decorative Arts from Cooper-Hewitt Museum and Parsons School of Design, and a B.A. in Art History from Princeton University. Lisa sits on many boards and committees of cultural and educational organizations.

Lisa Beth Podos

Lisa is a museum professional with over twenty-five years of experience. She has helped found and lead museums in California and New York, most recently serving as Deputy Director of Advancement and Engagement and a member of the Leadership Team at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, where she was responsible for strategic planning and execution of a holistic visitor-member-donor experience that broadened audience engagement and contributed to institutional sustainability. Prior to joining FAMSF, she was Executive Director of The San Francisco Fall Antiques Show Benefiting Enterprise for High School Students. She also served as Vice President for Visitor Experience at Copia: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts in Napa, CA. Before moving to California, she was founding Director of Public Programs at The Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts, Design, and Culture in New York, NY. In addition, she has worked at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and Sir John Soane’s Museum in London. 

Throughout Lisa’s career, she has been passionate about cultivating, connecting with, and changing the lives of younger audiences; she has launched and directed several ground-breaking and award-winning initiatives for youth and family museum visitors, including “Copia Kids” at Copia and the “de Youngsters” at the de Young.
